Why am i so irritated?

I have noticed myself getting very agitated and irritated over the last few days and the same is generally at work. But its not work that i am getting at. My work i love, it is everything around it that i am getting hyper about.

Evening brought some calm, but not before the usual getting hyper during the afternoon.

Around evening i was asking myself. What is so important that i am losing sleep over. Probably there is not. I also remembered a friend once telling me, if you do not do it would everything just shut down. Just then i remembered someone saying, “if there is 5 days up and down what is the problem” No there is no problem, its just that why wait for 5 days if you can close it down now.

Well i have thought.

Starting tomorrow morning, my work is all that is for me. Everyone else has to wait in line

Concentration levels have to go up way up.

Yes there is a lot of static that i do not need to hear, so i do need to hear and that is understood. I am not your friend. Am a co-worker lets keep it that way

Before making an opinion wait for 5 seconds and then say it, may be i would find a better way to put it.

Work for 5 days so 5 days do not think about anything other than work for the 8 hours there. Post that no thinking about it.

Primary responsibility is to my head and my heart, everything is second.

rat-a-TAT

TAT – Turn around time, have you heard it before? Am sure you would have, i hear it every time from the operations guys when they call me for some calls that are going to bust their tat’s et all. Some times i can help them some times i can. There are now a days when its is not supposed to be my job role (so am told) but that is another story.

I ask though another question. Why is this TAT, and why does it grow shorter every time. Am sure someone did a six sigma or time and motion study or some other course in this field and came up with this. I ask did you ask the customer on that TAT. Did you also factor quality in it?. Your answer might surprise you.

I believe in the concept, “Do it right first time” , just no reworks pls, It takes time and generally am able to get that from my users because they and i understand quality work requires time and effort. So why are these TAT’s so small and why is not quality an integral part of it. Quality never comes without a price and it is a worthy price to pay, but never in the short run, because it is always a loss. Plus the customer demands quality, generally he does not expect speed. If you send the customer sometime a few hours or a day later, believe me i do not think he/she would have a problem. Regardless of the commodity/service, the very fact the customer will get quality will make him give in to you.

Somehow this is very apparent as common sense but as they say common sense is not that common.

Why? i might say? Simple, we want everything in the short run, because as Keynes said, “in the long run we are all dead”. All the economic curves are either flat or smooth curves and we are not there to see it.

i(s)pill-ed and wasted

2 years ago started an Ad campaign for a contraceptive called “ipill”. At those moments thought as a great coming to age ad. Ok the Ad sucked but still the message was delivered at a proper time of the year, remember that time of the year where a lot of things happen 🙂 lol.

Any ways 2 years down the line, i hate everytime the ad comes up which is every few minutes on every freaking channel am surfing, and i do not watch so much TV now a days. Plus the ad sucks so back that you can vomit your own suck. How is that

Hasn’t someone told the damn company why the ad aint worth running. The ad never was good enuf and then trying to shove it down everyone’s that head and ass just aint happening and it is hard to believe that you cannot make good ad’s cuz Vodafone and airtel just made 2 of them and they are awesome.

Please do not hurt ur own sales because ur ad department cannot make more than half an ad. Re-Running it in my head a zillion time over does not make matters any good.

Don’t change your Stance, no Don’t

We were at this thing and someone says, you should not change your stance, never ever budge, if you are right!.

Well truth is relative, so one man’s truth could be just another person’s lies. In the same way you could be right but then tomorrow or the day after you might be proved wrong, in that case wouldn’t you go ahead an change your stance. May be that is construed on being hypocritical and it does sound that way but is not the right thing to do.

You might be so sure that you are right. But there could be someone else who puts in a point that is either better than yours or plain truth (again relative). Sometimes you could be right but there might be another argument that is also the truth in which case you can give in, well this depends on your side

I say be like like the grass, move with the wind. Do not do as the crowd tells you to do, do what is right. Listen to your heart. You might be right, but if your heart tells you the other person or goal is better than yours back off.

Something tells me i totally messed up this post. I wanted to say something, I am not sure this is being conveyed correctly but what the heck.

You are arrogant! Who? me!?

Havin the impression that a lot of people consider me arrogant. Ok. Now if my friends and dear collegues say that there is a case. They know me since long and would tell me in my face but they would also know the reason why.

There is a saying abt ‘askin for the finger and holding the hand. Some people do that. This happens when the other person does not know much but does not acknowledge that fact. When that occurs helping them is difficult. I would love to help but have things to do for which i cant delay. Hence help might be late. There is always a diff source to ask.

Am bored of this Shiney rape case crap and its been just been one week. Why don’t people just treat him just like another accused. So what if he is a film-star, they were never a holier than thou people that people had to be surprised like holy fuck he doesn’t look like the guy who would rape someone. Well go ask the girl/guy who got raped, even they didn’t think.

Get on with life, ensure that its a fair trial and may the truth win. A little too much to ask from the Indian courts (fuck now am in in contempt as well) may be but that how it should be. How is he any different from any of the other rapists there are.

I don’t know if its a publicity stunt as well. Hope am really wrong on this one, cuz it seems a very horrible on if it in fact it is.

Well this phrase was used by a professor who teaches us environment management at MBA school. They were not his exact words. This was the most easiest and likely interpretation of the whole dialog that he shared with us.

Some of the slides and learning’s from the presentation were that we have just about 50 years of crude oil with us. This is an optimistic estimate. Pessimistically we have just about 30 years of crude with us. You do the math. So by about 2039 we could realistically close our oil wells for good. Practically all hell will break loose though some years before that.

He gave a very funny example to put his point. Apparently this was in some TV show it seems. An Arab was saying that his grandfather travelled in a camel, his father in a car, he travels  business class, his son owns a private jet, his son however will travel by a camel. Notice the full circle.

I have watched the movie, “An inconvenient truth” but a lecture by the professor paints a different grim picture in front.

Finally to put a nail in the coffin, he goes on like well i am old, i may have max 20 years to go. So i have oil, gas and everything else when i die. What about you.
