New York!! New York!!

There are many reasons i do not go for a Hindi and i admit that some of them are just very flimsy, but they are my reasons and damm, right they are right in their own way.

Watched New York over the weekend, here is what i thought about it yes it is a little old and this is old but wtf it is my review

The Theatre : Cinemax – Wondermall Thane

No parking, alternative park on the road. No. Got it finally but not issues, no regrets as well.

The Movie Hall – Screen 1

Pretty ok, no issues, there was a crowd, but it seemed ok. Got seats quite soon. So no complaints there as well.

The Movie

Started pretty well, i did not know the plot at all, did not see any reviews, hell i did not even know who all were acting in the movie etc etc.

Neil started off pretty well as a nice little homely nerd, going to an American college, New York State University. The speed looked ok till when i saw the watch and nothing seemed happening, Hai Junoon was playing about every 2 minutes and it started getting depressing as to the reason of making the movie.

Neil then drags thru the movie, a 10 second dialogue take 5 minutes, just like Gabriel Garcia Chapter, long long long, c’mon if you want me to watch a Hindi movie, this was not the movie to start again.

Funny part hereWhen FBI boss talks in English, there are sub titles, when John Abraham talks in English in a small part, there are subtitles, however when Neil and Katrina speak in English there are no subtitles. Found it little weird.

Then suddenly it was interval time. And we were still about 30 minutes in real time. Forget it was already 1.5 hrs in movie time.

Time for popcorn and a big line, and exorbitant prices. Who pays 40 bucks for a water bottle, Are they giving Evian Water? Samosas for 35 bucks, for 2 …like 17 friggin bucks for a samosa, fk.!!!!!!

Anyways post the interval the movie started in the climax scenes, it could have got over in another 45 minutes but the movie lasted another hour. Dialogues slowing down.

In the last scene, Neil takes about 5 minutes to tell the officer where the bomb is to be, ok if you are in a crises situation you would tell that first and now take precious time, but the movie has to last right.

Last scene, John does again a slow, mourning talk. Shit happens, snipers start shooting. The snipers are behind John but bullets hit him in the chest.

Katrina, is standing next to Neil and the officer, but not one of them moves a bit even though in the firing line, talk about confidence.

No information on how John is molded into a terrorist. Katrina says she already knows john is a terrorist, but how.

The kid looks more American than both of them, wonder why i must guess.

Overall the movie is watchable if you don’t bother much into the details and take it at pop corn value. Watch it, Shut it , forget it.

Watchable for one time only

You are arrogant! Who? me!?

Havin the impression that a lot of people consider me arrogant. Ok. Now if my friends and dear collegues say that there is a case. They know me since long and would tell me in my face but they would also know the reason why.

There is a saying abt ‘askin for the finger and holding the hand. Some people do that. This happens when the other person does not know much but does not acknowledge that fact. When that occurs helping them is difficult. I would love to help but have things to do for which i cant delay. Hence help might be late. There is always a diff source to ask.

Gyan Time [Forwards]

Excerpt from the Speech given by Chetan Bhagat at Symbiosis.

Life is one of those races in nursery school where you have to run with a marble in a spoon kept in your mouth. If the marble falls, there is no point coming first. Same with life, where health and relationships are the marble. Your striving is only worth it if there is harmony in your life. Else, you may achieve the success, but this spark, this feeling of being excited and alive, will start to die.

One thing about nurturing the spark – don’t take life seriously. Life is not to be taken seriously, as we are really temporary here. We are like a pre-paid card with limited validity. If we are lucky, we may last another 50 years. And 50 years is just 2,500 weekends.Do we really need to get so worked up? It’s ok, bunk a few classes, goof up a few interviews, fall in love. We are people, not programmed devices.

Start Enjoying from this moment……

Rains /Football/ Feast

Ok Rains are finally here i think, i don’t want to jinx it. Its been really cloudy, and downcast since this afternoon so yippie, but very very happy. Also it gives me the extra thing to be lazy

On other note, football season is here. btw we got a local church side tournament so got to go to cheer up the zone folks in a bit. Matches start at 8 so yeah gotta run in a bit.

There are some other games as well so gotta cheer them as well.

The church feast in the next week so lotta things to look for

Oh well gotta sign out

Show us the Hiney Shiney

Am bored of this Shiney rape case crap and its been just been one week. Why don’t people just treat him just like another accused. So what if he is a film-star, they were never a holier than thou people that people had to be surprised like holy fuck he doesn’t look like the guy who would rape someone. Well go ask the girl/guy who got raped, even they didn’t think.

Get on with life, ensure that its a fair trial and may the truth win. A little too much to ask from the Indian courts (fuck now am in in contempt as well) may be but that how it should be. How is he any different from any of the other rapists there are.

I don’t know if its a publicity stunt as well. Hope am really wrong on this one, cuz it seems a very horrible on if it in fact it is.

btw this post does not make sense on many levels, but then since i have written it i might as well post it.

Then were ‘Mungerilal ke hasin sapane’ and ‘karamchand’ …’Vikram Betal’, etc.

How did one survive growing up in the 80’s and 90’s?
We had no seatbelts, no airbags and sitting in the back of a truck was a treat… Our baby prams had the most gorgeous lead based colours…
No such thing as tamper proof bottle tops…

Opening kitchen cupboards was a breeze… as safety locks were unheard off… Cycling was like a breath of fresh air…
No safety helmets, knee pads or elbow pads, with plenty of cardboards between spokes to make it sound like a motorbike…

When thirsty we only drank tap water, bottled water was still a mystery… We kept busy collecting bits & pieces so we could build all sort of things … and we were fearless on our bikes even when the brakes failed going downhill…
We were showing off how tough we are, by how high we could climb trees & then jumping down….It was great fun….

We could stay out to play for hours, as long as we got back before dark, in time for dinner…
We walked to school, or sometimes we even rode our bike.
We had no mobile phones, but we always managed to find each other…. How? No one knows…
We ate everything in sight, cakes, bread, chocolate, ice-cream, sweet sugary drinks, yet, we stayed skinny by fooling around.

And if one of us was lucky to find a 1 litre coca cola bottle we all had a swag from it & guess what? Nobody picked up any germs… We did not have Play Stations, MP3, Nintendo’s, I-Pods, Video games, 99 Cable TV channels, DVD’s, Home Cinema, Mobile phones, Home Computers, Laptops, Chat-rooms, Internet, etc … BUT, we had REAL FRIENDS!!!!
We called on friends to come out to play, never rang the doorbell, just went around the back…
We loved being let loose in the big bad world…without bodyguards… We played with sticks and stones, played cowboys and Indians, doctors and nurses, hide and seek, soccer games, over and over again… When we failed our exams we were given a second chance by simply repeating the same grade…without visiting psychiatrists, psychologists or counselors…
Such were the days…
Are YOU from that generation?? If that’s the case, email this to all your friends from the same era…
Maybe this message will help them forget the stress that surrounds us these days….and just for a few moments puts a smile to their faces as they remember what life was really like in the good old days…… Don’t you think they were GREAT DAYS…..I sure think so.
I Just can’t stop smiling,Am sure U will have the same
…………….. Cheers!!!

Remains of the day

When you come from a three day weekend, the last thing you want to see is a backlog of emails. Well that happens so there is nothing i could do abt it.

watched star trek on monday. 🙂 was a good movie though somewhat confusing. Well food at copper chimney worli is good all the time and at 420 a head not jokin its a steal i tell you. The pub ‘fuel’ is good as well but downrigt boring

on last thoughts lost my 7 days of internet time thanks to sify systems not able to identify load sheddin in my vicinity. Their customer service is even more pathetic which i guess has been told to them like a million times. They told me that the floor manager will call i told them they wont call and it didnt happen.

Hear the Music?

18012009

Got this when i had gone to a friends place, was really weird why someone would write like that but guess he/she was just frustrated at people keeping the door open even when the music tells them it is open

Generally down sify down again # updated: not this time

My net is down again and the last 2 days have been net less (is it a word? ) and am not worried a bit. May be cause the time i get home am so tired that i would nt care less if the net was up or down.

Update – it seems it wasn’t sify’s fault this time. My LAN card went kaput and hence the problem. Now its rectified and working wel

hitting the gym is been very good. mentally i feel better cause now i think i can be consistent here cause i got some good buddies from my team also working out. It just becomes more lively to exercise when you got friends around.

Racist! Who ? We? What ?

Every day i hear on the headlines abt a new student or another person being assualted in oz. Its terrifying to go thru a racially colored assault when you dont know what will happen next. And you know help is questionable because you dont know which group they belong to. Oz must protect everyone from everywhere because security is the state’s resp. . . . .contd later
